Rosario Dawson Keeps It Real

*Talk about keepin’ it real. Not only do Rosario Dawson and her mother, Isabel, keep apartments in the East 13th Street tenement where they lived before the actress became famous, but according to the New York Post, they haven’t been paying the $100-a-month “dues” in the building, which is reportedly in the process of becoming a low-income co-op.

Two tenants told the Post’s Page Six that their famous neighbors are taking up space that could’ve been better served for folks waist-deep in the financial struggle.

“She’s a multimillionaire,” complained one tenant. “Our building is for low-income people.”

To add insult to injury, one tenant said Dawson had the nerve to recruit interior design guru Ty Pennington – the host of TLC’s “Trading Spaces” and ABC’s “Extreme Home Makeover” – to redecorate her studio for his TLC gig.

The tenement holds a lot of personal memories for Dawson, as she was hanging out on its stoop at age 15 when filmmaker Larry Clark discovered her and cast her in his controversial 1995 movie, “Kids.”

Isabel told Page Six: “I’ve lived here 19 years — you’re bound to have altercations with some people . . . My daughter is doing extremely well, and I’m proud of her. Wherever Rosario decides to live — especially the building she grew up in as a little girl — she has that right. Whoever called you is a sad person and they need to get a life. I’m sad about it. And I’m sad my daughter gets dragged into it because of who she is.”
